Most of the food consumed in the cities comes from the villages but the food waste is not recycled. As a result, farmers are compelled use chemical fertilizers to compensate for nutrient losses. On account of excessive use of Chemical fertilizers, both ground water and surface water are contaminated. KhubSurat feels that what we receive from villages should be sent back to villages as organic fertilizer to complete the biogeochemical cycle. It calls for integration of our solid waste disposal and organic farming.
